Sun Up Ridge Wall - Now The Sun Up Ridge Memorial Wall extends about a third of a mile and is on the average twelve foot high. The Wall holds up the west Yellowstone highway along the river. As you can see strollers, bicyclists, runners and canoeists on the river will use it extensively. The map illustrates the Wall in relation to the river, the highway and the refinery grounds now undergoing construction for a new championship golf course.
The orange line on the map marks the Wall area being asked for under this proposal. The retaining Wall for the highway is of heavy concrete formed concrete slabs which are not observable from the highway and would not be a distraction for drivers. The only means to observe this Wall is to park in the parking area north of the river (where the orange word "Wall" is shown) and walk the path. |
